5 Delicious Winter Cocktails

Old Fashioned

To kick off this list, we have to start with the ultimate warming cocktail, the Old Fashioned. This simple drink seems like it was designed to warm you up with its holy trinity of sweet, sour, and strong flavours. To make an Old Fashioned, muddle sugar and bitters in a short glass before adding ice, whiskey, and a citrus rind. Best enjoyed next to a roaring fire.

Espresso Martini

If you need a pick me up on a cold winter’s night, you can’t go past an espresso martini. This drink is unbelievably tasty and simple to make. Just combine equal parts vodka, kahlua, and espresso in a shaker over ice, shake, and strain into a chilled martini glass. Each sip will give you an extra shot of energy to get through the winter nights.

Winter Wonderland in a Glass

For a drink that looks like you feel, try the Winter Wonderland in a Glass. This cocktail consists of one part creme de coco, one part full cream milk, two parts vanilla vodka, and two parts white chocolate liqueur. Shake over ice and serve in a sugar rimmed martini glass. This one is an Instagram must as it looks and tastes just like you would imagine a white winter would.

Need something to warm you up fast? Nothing does the job better than hearty jug of sangria. Cut up some apples, oranges, and lemons and throw them in a large pitcher with ice, red wine, orange juice, and brandy. If that doesn’t warm you up, nothing will!

Comfort Food Cocktail

Because winter is the time for comfort food, and what’s more comforting than a chocolate milkshake, spiked with some extra heat? This one is super easy. Just whip up your favourite chocolate milkshake recipe in a blender or milkshake maker with some ice and add a splash or more of cinnamon whiskey. Serve in a mason jar and enjoy your comforting milkshake with a fiery kick of whiskey to warm you up.
